New Feature: "Ask the DBS Nurse"
by
Margaret Tuchman

When asked to introduce herself to the visitors of this Forum, Roberta wrote: "the FA (in my title) stands for surgical first assistant. I've been working in neurosurgery for twenty years (starting when I was 12, of course) at the New England Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute and Cedars Sinai. I've been specializing in movement disorders for the past eight.
I am clinical supervisor and head nurse for the movement disorders surgery program at California Neuroscience Institute. I perform preoperative evaluation, intra-operative monitoring and post-operative care including DBS programming. I love working with Parkinson's patients the most because they educate themselves about their condition and actively participate in their care.
