Richard - thanks for your reply. I have noticed that with the Kinetra stimulator the top settings are 10v and 250hz, but I have been told that 6.25 and 185 are the highest used. However I am due to back for an overnight visit to the hospital where my surgery was performed, and am hoping for something positive!
At 4.8/220/90 on one side I am somewhat higher in the settings used than you, and I'm still here!

Anniek,
My surgery was performed on 11/25/98. By 1/01/00 my setting on the right side was 4.2 or 4.3 volts and left siide was 4.1 volts. If I remember correctly the output was 130 on one side and 90 on the other? This used double the energy so I had to have the batteries replaced 2 and 1/2 years later in May of 2001. Umbeknownst to me the doctors set the volts at 3.0 and I managed well for some reason. Now my v is at 3.7 and pw 180 and output is 85. The doctors are reluctant to go higher because of using too much energy (I think).
I never had my leads replaced. I hope this helps.

ANyone have high settings and had the lead replaced with good results? I have over 4volts/220hz on one side, causing speech problems. Now that I can walk again I want it all! But I have noticed a reduction in effect since surgery in Spring 2003 (Bilateral - the other side is less than 1volt). Would raising the other side have any crossover effect, allowing a reduction in the high side??
